Incoming Update...

On May 4th, 2021, I had an idea.

I wanted to create an escape game similar to those such as Granny and Mr. Meat. I began working on this project any chance I got and went through countless errors and bugs to get to a publishable version.

September 29th, the first update was released, including some major improvements. Since then, new features have been added, bugs have been stepped on, and thousands of tests have been done.

And now, at long last, I am proud to announce that Version 1.0.0 is almost here!

What does this update bring to the game? Oh, nothing much. Just a new item (introduced in 0.8.0), new area, and some finishing touches on some textures. Wait. That doesn't sound right... Oh! That's right! It was three new items, a second way to escape, and a new area -- as well as some gameplay improvement. It is scheduled for release on December 16th, 2021.

What does this mean for Darwin? Well, this is what I am not so excited about. It's been nearly 7 months now since I began work on Darwin and I've enjoyed every single part about producing it. However, with more projects coming relatively soon, I have decided that Version 1.0.0 will be the final major update. I could technically keep updating the game -- and I actually had planned on more new features after 1.0.0 -- but once I had finalized the new things and began playtesting, it was like playing a finished game. It felt completed.

While I am a bit sad to finish Darwin, I think I've created a game that will stimulate excitement inside of players for quite some time. I created a demonstration with just three items (the keycard, brick, and padlock key) and a white capsule as an enemy, and now it's become a fully-functional game with several items (the keycard, brick, padlock key, dart, safe key, and the new items on the way) and an enemy with working AI.

As production on Darwin wraps up, I'd like to thank everyone who has enjoyed playing it, and to those who have yet to try it out, I wish you the best of luck!

With this, I will leave you with a kind farewell. I hope you will be patient, as my next project will begin official production after Darwin's last update has been released. I will try my best to have some information to share by late May - early July of 2022.

Thank you so much, and I will talk to you later!
